The aim of the project was to complete a new head office for the Australian arm of eni. CDI Group was appointed as the head contractor in a Design and Construction procurement model, and both Hassell and ATA Engineering were novated to CDI Group at the completion of the Brief and Schematic design.

The fitout consisted of open and partitioned offices, meeting rooms, specialised conference rooms, two complex communication rooms with gas suppression, staff café areas, ground floor mailroom and reception. There was a large audio-visual component of the project that required extensive coordination in order to reach the desired end result.

A key aspect of the environment that eni wished to capture was the ability to communicate and collaborate easily with all team members across two floors. This was achieved through the installation of a new inter-tenancy staircase. CDI Group oversaw the design of the staircase, obtained the appropriate approvals and created a works procedure and safety plan to execute this aspect of the project. Before work began, CDI Group ensured eni’s safety team were comfortable with the proposed works procedure and our intended methods of completing this complex installation. The end result was a stylish and functional link that encouraged movement and activity between both floors.
